Scratch

Scratch is an application software for understanding the sequence of instructions in programming. It became popular after being introduced in Computer Science Basic courses throughout primary and secondary schools in Malaysia.

Scratch lets students build animated stories and simple games. It also supports the basics of programming control to connected devices (IoT) such as the Raspberry Pi.

It is built with 3 basic views. The first is the main display displaying the entire project view, the second is Sprites, which is a graphic element or object used and the third Editor, space for editing program scripts, graphic customization and even voice editing.

Scripts provide block sets of programs with different color schemes according to function. It makes it easier for students to identify each category of instruction sequence. You can also use Scratch as a web editor or download it to operate offline on your computer.

What's great about Scratch is that you can share any work or project in the open gallery, called Projects and Studios. You can also download other students' work and edit it according to your creativity.

Scratch is a very important application that provides a basic understanding of programming before students get into advanced stages or even use real programming software.
